Why Combine Health With Travel?
Taking vacations and escaping the everyday, ordinary, stressfull and tiresome routines play an important role for your health - and that’s why I’ve included my travel blogs: The Laughing Goats. Most working adults receive 2-3 weeks of vacation time a year, so I've geared my travel trips to fit those parameters. My adventures also include many 1 day trips, a perfect little mini-retreat to help you recharge. Both provide healing benefits.
Another reason I like to keep my travels under 30 days - I’d miss my community, my animals, my church, and my own bed too much to be the non-stop wanderer type.

The best part about getting healthy the fun way…. there's no strict diets or rigorous workouts. You'll have some flexibility to personalize your health journey to keep your weekly goals within reach. Setting shorter term goals makes them less daunting and more attainable.
Of course, you’ll need to learn what and when to eat and how to move your body so that it can work like the engine it’s meant to be. You can even burn fat even while you’re sleeping. And…. you can still reach your goals even while enjoying a few simple pleasures.
Lastly, check out my travel blog: The Laughing Goats. Did you know that vacations are one of the best ways to restore health and release stress? See the next section below.

Mental & Physical Health
The goal is getting balanced which means having an active body, a calm mind, sleeping better, and of course living on Laughter Lane - medicine for your happy. These improvements will boost the rest of the body’s functions like digestion and cognition.
If your primary struggle is physical health, possibly from a sedentary lifestyle or recovering from a long injury - prioritize physical health first.
If your primary struggle is mental health, like being weighed down by chronic stress - prioritize mental health first.
Spend time outdoors doing fun activities that work your muscles & heart. And don’t forget to enjoy some relaxing activities, it also boosts health.

Did you know that mental/emotional health and physical health are connected? If one improves, so does the other. The opposite is also true - if one is struggling, the other one will too. Start with this: 12 Stress Kicking Habits.
Vacations Boost Health
Would you like to know the secret about vacations? It’s a scientific fact that we need to escape our everyday struggles. What I’ve found to be the most effective is taking 30-60 minutes every day for short mini-retreats and 2-3 mini-retreats every month.
Mini-retreats are the extra boost you need until you can take a vacation. The more time away, the more healing happens. Whatever works best for you - 2 shorter vacations or 1 longer one - have fun and rock your happy & healthy vibes. Learn why: Vacations are Health Bombs.
Can Healthy Be Fun?
Yes of course you can still have fun AND be healthy. Just temember, life isn’t always a piece of cake…. but you CAN still eat the cake! Here’s what you DON'T have to do to achieve a better happy & healthy:
You don't have to go on strict diets or train like an Olympic athlete.
You don't have to worry about things beyond your control or having an off day. Don't beat yourself, just keep trying.
You don't need to set unrealistic goals. Smaller, weekly goals are more realistic & attainable than thining about losing 50 pounds. Reaching smaller goals every week also keeps you motivated.

A Little Something About Me
Hi there, my name's Jennifer - that's me on the right with my daughter. In highschool I started my first job, and up until 3 years ago, lived in an office box. I devoted most of my energy to climbing the job ladder and raising a family. Striving and working more hours to reach the pot of gold at the end of the rainbow. But, you never do.
Here’s What I Know
The pot of gold may mean different things for you, but it’s usually about being able to pay for what you want…. you know, the good stuff. The truth is - it’s NOT worth it.
It’s a never ending climb. In your 30’s you may reach a career & financial goal. In your 40’s you’ve got a bigger goal…. in your 50’s you think you’re almost there…. but you never reach it. Now, you’re 60 and you realize you’ve wasted most of your life on a job that pays nicely, but you’ve lost everything that’s important.
Taking the First Step
Here's what I start with to mentally prepare myself for the challenges and stresses I know are coming sometime today.
First, I pray. It gives me strength, comfort, security, and confidence. If I happen to miss it one morning, I usually end up in a face plant position!
Have a life / work balance…. notice life is the priority, not the job. Exercise, enjoy outdoor activities, hang with friends, take mini-retreats, and volunteer - these are health boosters.
I still work on managing stress so it can't control me anymore. Stress can jack you up in so many big ways.
Focus on today, and don’t worry about yesterday or tomorrow..... yeah, still working on that one.
I’m also learning how to balance my active schedule with rest & relaxation when I need it. This keeps me feeling energetic and ready to tackle anything.
If I haven’t laughed enough during the day, or I’m feeling a littled drained - I’ll turn on the hilarious, a little YouTube entertainment. Animals, talking parrots, and babies provide all the LOL laugh-out-loud moments I need which keeps my happy hormones multiplying.
Finally, top off the day with a healthy dessert made with protein Greek plain yogurt that will make you feel like you just cheated…. but you didn’t. One day I hope to add all my healthy de-lish desserts.
